AMMAN, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan and visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani pledged on Monday to boost Jordan-Iraq ties on economic and political levels.

During their meeting held in the Jordanian capital of Amman, the two leaders stressed the importance of their ties and discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation and push forward their joint projects.

King Abdullah urged both countries to build on bilateral cooperation and consolidate the tripartite cooperation initiative between Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt, which he said represented a model to be followed suit in the region.

The king also pointed out that the security of Iraq is crucial for Jordan's security and stability.

The Iraqi prime minister called for stronger bilateral ties between Iraq and Jordan, vowing to foster their ties in a range of areas.

The two leaders also discussed the Palestinian issue, regional crises, and counter-terror cooperation.
