SEOUL, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korea reported 23,765 new COVID-19 cases as of midnight Sunday compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 26,217,994, the health authorities said on Monday.
The daily caseload was down from 48,465 in the previous day, but it was higher than 18,665 tallied a week earlier, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA).
For the past week, the daily average number of new cases was 51,594.
Among the new cases, 54 were imported from overseas, lifting the total to 70,484.
The number of infected people who were in critical condition stood at 413, up 17 from the previous day.
Forty-four more deaths were confirmed, leaving the death toll at 29,709. ■
