KATHMANDU, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Sama Chakeva, which is marked in Nepal's Kathmandu on Nov. 8, is celebrated by the Tharu community to mark the affectionate relationship between brothers and sisters and is a festival of praying for longevity, health and prosperity.
Sisters make clay statuettes of characters mentioned in the story of Sama Chakeva. Girls assemble near the ghats of chhath with a basket containing small idols of Sama and Chakeva, candles, kohl, and clay-made daily use appliances for celebration.
