BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Kunshan FC gained promotion to the Chinese Super League (CSL) with five games to go after they beat Zibo Cuju 4-1 on Friday.
Kunshan remained unbeaten so far in the China League One this season, collecting 77 points from 24 wins and five draws, beyond the reach of fourth-placed Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic with 56 points.
The top three finishers of the 18-team Chinese second-tier league will be promoted to play in the top-flight league next season.
Kunshan FC will be another side from Jiangsu province to feature in the Chinese top division after Jiangsu FC shuttered operation in late February 2021, just over 100 days after they won their maiden CSL title. ■
