SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- South Korea recorded 55,365 more COVID-19 cases as of midnight Wednesday compared to 24 hours ago, taking the total number of infections to 26,037,020, the health authorities said Thursday.
The daily caseload was down from 62,472 in the previous day, but it was higher than 46,887 tallied a week earlier, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA).
For the past week, the daily average number of new cases was 45,686.
Among the newly reported infections, 50 were imported cases, lifting the total to 70,271.
The number of infected people who were in critical condition stood at 323, down 13 from the previous day.
Fifty-two more deaths were confirmed from the pandemic, bringing the death toll to 29,531. ■
