SAN JOSE, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Costa Rica manager Luis Fernando Suarez has promised a celebration for fans when Los Ticos step up their FIFA World Cup preparations with a home friendly against Nigeria.
Wednesday's fixture is expected to attract a capacity crowd at the 35,000-seat National Stadium in capital San Jose.
"We're going to make it a beautiful party," Suarez told a news conference on Tuesday. "People are going to go to the stadium to enjoy themselves and it is our obligation to ensure it's a spectacular party that is full of energy. It's a chance to recognize our fans for their support."
The clash will be Suarez's penultimate chance to test his squad before the World Cup begins in Qatar on November 20. Los Ticos will have a final warmup match against Iraq in Basra on November 17.
The Central American side have been drawn in the World Cup's Group E alongside Spain, Japan and Germany. Nigeria failed to qualify for the football showpiece tournament. ■
