JINAN, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chen Pu scored two goals in the first four minutes as defending champions Shandong Taishan smashed Tianjin Jinmen Tiger 4-1, while Wuhan Three Towns crushed Guangzhou City 4-1 in the 23rd round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Thursday.

Shangdong opened the scoring after only 53 seconds, when Chen netted a pass from Liu Binbin. Just five minutes later, the 25-year-old midfielder enlarged the lead with a header.

In the 34th minute, Shandong's striker Cryzan's cross in the box hit defender Yang Fan and deflected into the net, which extended Shandong's advantage to 3-0.

Spanish Francisco Merida's long-range shot pulled one back for Tianjin in the 68th minute, but Tianjin didn't manage to score more and allowed the second own goal in the 80th minute.

Elsewhere, Davidson scored a brace to help Wuhan Three Towns crush Guangzhou City, keeping their leading position in the table.

Wuhan took the lead in the 10th minute, when striker Nicolae Stanciu hit home a powerful volley. However, Guilherme scored an equalizer for the Guangzhou City six minutes later.

Davidson put Wuhan ahead again with his powerful kick in the 32nd minute before his teammate Xie Pengfei enlarged Wuhan's lead with a solo run in the 50th minute. A brilliant brace by Davidson in the 86th minute sealed the victory for Wuhan.

After the win, Wuhan, leveling on 56 points with Shandong, remained top of the table on a superior goal difference.
