ISLAMABAD, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan recorded 69 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, its ministry of health said on Friday.
The overall tally of infected people climbed to 1,573,922 after adding the fresh cases, according to data released by the ministry.
A total of 30,622 people died of COVID-19 in Pakistan, with no more deaths reported over the last 24 hours, according to the ministry's statistics.
On Thursday, 12,739 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan, and the positivity rate stood at 0.54 percent.
Currently there are 48 COVID-19 patients who are in critical condition in the country. ■
