FREETOWN, Oct. 25 (Xinhua)-- Sierra Leone will host the final leg of the Budapest-Bamako rally raid from November 6 to 8, the country's Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs said on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, as the world's largest amateur vehicular rally, the 19-day event comprises 600 participants with 250 vehicles and 350 motorbikes.
Participants are poised to arrive in Sierra Leone on November 6, drive through some parts of the country and arrive at the finish line on November 8 in the capital Freetown, where Sierra Leone's President Julius Maada Bio is expected to receive them.
The ministry said that hosting the race was the government's vision of making Sierra Leone an attractive tourist destination, creating a platform for cultural exchange, facilitating foreign direct investment, and providing jobs for the youth, women, and other vulnerable groups. ■
