BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Here are the latest Chinese sports headlines over the past week:

1. Beijing 2022 Olympic athletes honored at ANOC Awards 2022

The best athletes of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games were honored on Wednesday during the awards ceremony of ANOC Awards 2022 held in Seoul.

The awards ceremony was held in the context of the 26th General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

The Chinese delegation's freestyle skier Gu Ailing was named the best-performing female athlete of Beijing 2022.

The Chinese Olympic Committee received the award for the outstanding NOC of Beijing 2022.


2. IOC: Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics watched by over two billion people

The Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games reached a global broadcast audience of more than two billion people, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Thursday.

According to independent research conducted on behalf of the IOC, Beijing 2022 has become the most digitally engaged Olympic Winter Games in history, with 2.01 billion viewers, up 5% from PyeongChang 2018 watching the Games through linear TV and digital platforms.


3. China's Zhang Zhizhen breaks into ATP top 100

Zhang Zhizhen became the first male player from the Chinese mainland to break into the top 100 in the ATP live rankings after advancing into the quarterfinals of the Napoli Cup on Thursday.

The qualifier started the day with a 6-4, 7-6(8) win over Hungary's Marton Fucsovics in the first round, before knocking out sixth seed Sebastian Baez of Argentina 7-6(5), 7-6(11) in the second to lift his live ranking to No. 96.


4. Miao Wanru claims women's 50m rifle 3 positions gold for China at Cairo worlds

China's Miao Wanru came back from six points down to beat Norway's Jenny Stene 17-13 for the women's 50m rifle three positions gold at the World Championships in Cairo on Friday.

China has won four gold medals from the seven Olympic events contested so far after the 14-day world championships started on October 12.


5. China sweeps three golds at FINA Diving World Cup

China collected three golds and one sliver at FINA Diving World Cup in Berlin on Friday as teen stars Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi clinched their first World Cup gold in the women's 10m synchro platform.

In the men's 10m synchro platform final, reigning world champions Yang Hao and Lian Junjie from China led after every round to take the gold.

World champion Wang Zongyuan and Olympic champion Cao Yuan had a 1-2 finish in the men's 3m springboard.


6. China drawn alongside England, Denmark at FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

China has been drawn in Group D of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 along with England, Denmark and a play-off winner.

The 32 teams competing in the tournaments in Australia and New Zealand have been drawn into eight groups of four teams each, with the top two from each progressing to the round of 16.

The 2023 World Cup opens on July 20 in Auckland and concludes with the final in Sydney on August 20.
