BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- A first-half goal from teenager Luca Langoni fired leaders Boca Juniors to a 1-0 away victory over Sarmiento in Argentina's Primera Division on Wednesday.
Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo missed the chance to give the visitors an early lead when his penalty attempt was saved by Sebastian Meza after the latter tripped Langoni.
But the 19-year-old winger continued causing problems for Sarmiento's defense with his speed and deft ball control. He was rewarded for his efforts in the 46th minute when he bundled home a shot from inside the six-yard box after Dario Benedetto's pass on the counterattack.
Boca were mostly untroubled thereafter as they eased to their 15th win of the campaign.
Hugo Ibarra's men now have 48 points from 24 outings, four points ahead of second-placed River Plate with two match days remaining.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Wednesday, Banfield won 1-0 at Aldosivi, San Lorenzo prevailed 1-0 at Gimnasia and Independiente were held to a 2-2 home draw by Barracas Central. ■
