BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Port forward Li Shenglong has received 15 stitches for a cut lip he suffered in his side's 4-1 win over Changchun Yatai on Sunday, said a club official.
The 20-year-old striker had his lip lacerated after a collision with a Changchun defender in the 82nd minute when he headed in Shanghai's fourth goal.
He was then taken to hospital for treatment.
"Li Shenglong's lip injury required 15 stitches," said Shanghai Port press official Zhao Haochen.
"After the doctor closed the cut with stitches, Li Shenglong immediately went to the Changchun airport to join the team on their way back to Shanghai," he said.
Shanghai Port currently sit fourth in the Chinese Super League table with 37 points from 20 fixtures. ■
