SYDNEY, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- China have qualified for the U17 Asian Cup 2023 finals as one of the best six runners-up, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Monday.

China finished their qualifying campaign on Sunday with two consecutive wins and one defeat, scoring six points and claiming second place in qualifying Group G.

Along with China, South Korea (Group J), Afghanistan (Group H), India (Group D), Thailand (Group F) and Laos (Group I) also booked their spots in the finals for being the top six second-placed teams.

Meanwhile, Japan (Group A), Malaysia (Group B), Qatar (Group C), Saudi Arabia (Group D), Yemen (Group E), Vietnam (Group F), Australia (Group G), Tajikistan (Group H), Iran (Group I) and Uzbekistan (Group J) made it to the finals as group winners.

The finals are scheduled for May 2023, with a host nation yet to be confirmed after Bahrain withdrew from hosting the competition.
