RIYADH, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Saudi and Chinese diplomats, academics, and writers, along with many visitors, attended a book-promoting activity in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, featuring Saudi classical works translated into Chinese and Chinese books translated into Arabic.
The activity, held during the ongoing Riyadh International Book Fair (RIBF) 2022, was organized by the Saudi Center for Research and Knowledge Communication and the China Intercontinental Press (CIP) as part of their efforts to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Under a memorandum of understanding signed between China and Saudi Arabia in 2016, the two countries launched a large-scale book translation project, in which many books that introduce China and Saudi Arabia have since been published.
This year's RIBF, which opened on Sept. 29 and will run until Oct. 8, is the largest book fair in the history of Saudi Arabia, setting new records for the size and diversity of activities.

Under the theme of "Cultural Chapters," the book affair has promised to deliver 10 days of diverse programs, including seminars, poetry and music nights, local and international plays, workshops, live cooking shows, a kids' pavilion, and so on.
On behalf of China's publishing industry, the CIP is taking part in the RIBF for the second consecutive year.
On CIP's exhibition shelves, books introducing and interpreting China's Dream, as well as China's path, model, experience, and contemporary Chinese values were displayed.
