RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Corinthians' Brazilian Serie A title hopes suffered a blow on Tuesday when they were held to a 2-2 away draw by stragglers Juventude.
Giuliano de Paula gave the visitors the lead with a 24th-minute strike before Oscar Ruiz equalized with a long-range shot just after halftime.
Yuri Alberto restored Corinthians' lead by rifling home a low 54th-minute effort after combining with Mateus Vital.
But Isidro Pitta put the hosts back on level terms with a cool finish just after the hour following Oscar Ruiz's assist.
The result leaves Corinthians fourth in the 20-team standings with 51 points, 12 points behind leader Palmeiras, who has a game in hand.
Juventude remains last, having won just three games with eight match days remaining. ■
