DHAKA, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- With due religious fervor, Durga Puja, the biggest annual Hindu festival, which reveres and pays homage to the Hindu goddess Durga, began on Saturday in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka.
The festival is also marked by scripture recitations, performance arts, revelry, gift-giving, family visits, feasting, and public processions. During the five-day festival, the Goddess Durga is worshipped in her different forms.
