CAIRO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the creation of Egyptology and the decoding of ancient hieroglyphs, an exhibition was recently launched at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, displaying treasures of the Pharaoh Psusennes I.
With a name meaning "the star appearing in the city," Psusennes I reigned from 1039 to 991 BC at the beginning of the Third Intermediate Period, founding the 21st Dynasty's new capital at Tanis.
His funerary golden mask and silver coffin are the highlights of the exhibits. Photography without flash is allowed for the first time at the exhibition, which will last until the end of October.
