SOFIA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Marc-Andrea Huesler of Switzerland won the seventh edition of the ATP 250 Sofia Open here on Sunday after beating Danish teenager Holger Rune 6-4, 7-6 (8) in the final.
It was the first ATP title for the 26-year-old, who is currently No. 95 in the ATP rankings.
Huesler will pocket 81,310 euros (80,000 U.S. dollars) in prize money.
On his road to glory, Huesler beat France's Geoffrey Blancaneaux, second seed Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain, Poland's Kamil Majchrzak of Poland, and fourth seed Lorenzo Musetti of Italy.
"I played a great, great match for sure," Huesler said in his on-court interview.
"I just tried to stay focused, stay calm and I am just really happy I was able to make it." ■
