Pakistan records 75 new COVID-19 cases, 2 new deaths

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan recorded 75 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the country's ministry of health said on Saturday.

The overall tally of the infected people climbed to 1,572,678 after adding the fresh cases, according to the data released by the ministry.

A total of 30,618 people died of COVID-19 in Pakistan, after two new deaths were reported in the country during the last 24 hours, according to the ministry.

On Friday, 11,718 tests for COVID-19 were conducted throughout Pakistan, and the latest positivity rate stood at 0.64 percent.

Currently, there are 48 COVID-19 patients who are in critical condition in the South Asian country.
