WARSAW, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Thailand eased past South Korea 25-13, 25-15, 25-14 on Thursday to progress to the next round of the 2022 FIVB Women's World Championship in Gdansk, Poland.

This is the third win for Danai Sriwatcharamethakul's side in the tournament. Opposite Pimpichaya Kokram fired 21 points, and outside hitter Ajcharaporn Kongyot added 12. South Korean skipper Park Jeong-ah scored a team-high 11 points.

Thailand controlled the game from the beginning to the end, being good in reception to start fast attacks. In each set, they secured a solid lead early and killed their opponents' hopes of a return.

"We played with happiness and tried to enjoy our game. If we have too much stress, it's not so good for us and for our game. It's great that we won today and moved to the next round, where we will try to win more, but first, we have one more game to play in this pool," Pimpichaya was quoted as saying by the tournament's official website.

On the same day, Turkey beat Croatia 25-14, 25-12, 25-12. Giovanni Guidetti's players won three games in a row in Pool B to advance to the next round.

Opposite Ebrar Karakurt and middle blocker Zehra Gunes led the team to the victory as they scored 12 points each. Samanta Fabris delivered 10 points for Croatia, who lost all their four games in the tournament.

In another match in Pool B, the Dominican Republic broke Poland's perfect record as they beat the co-hosts 18-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21. Elizabeth Brayelin turned out to be the leader of the winners in attack with 20 points. Bethania de la Cruz added 18.

Both the Dominican Republic and Poland will play in the next phase.
