BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.13 percent to 3,041.2 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.18 percent higher at 10,919.44 points.
Turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 624.57 billion yuan (87.84 billion U.S. dollars), down from 647.26 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the sectors of medical equipment and precious metals led the gains, while those related to hotels and tourism suffered the biggest losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.83 percent to close at 2,333 points Thursday. ■
