BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Port forward Cherif Ndiaye sat out his side's 3-0 win over Chengdu Rongcheng due to a leg muscle injury on Thursday.
The Senegalese striker was left out of the list against Chengdu after he had picked up a leg injury in their 2-0 win over Guangzhou City on Sunday.
"Four days ago, Ndiaye, who scored the second goal for Shanghai against Guangzhou, had some trouble with his leg muscle after that game," said Shanghai team press official Zhao Haochen.
"So he did not appear in the squad for this match (against Chengdu)," Zhao added.
Wu Lei scored a brace on Thursday to earn Shanghai their third win in a row, and Shanghai climbed to third in the Chinese Super League table. ■
