WARSAW, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Scotland have been promoted into League A of the UEFA Nations League after drawing 0-0 with Ukraine in Krakow, Poland on Tuesday.

Steve Clarke's side, who won Group B with 13 points, needed just one point to book a place in League A. Ukraine had been looking to take revenge after having lost 3-0 away at Scotland a few days ago.

Scotland forward Che Adams could have put the visitors ahead just two minutes into the game, but goalkeeper Andriy Lunin saved Ukraine from a nightmare start.

The hosts reacted immediately as Mykhailo Mudryk found Andriy Yarmolenko with a perfect cross from the left wing, but the Ukrainian skipper missed the target from close range.

Scotland had more possession before the break but they couldn't turn it into a goal.

In the 49th minute, Mudryk challenged Craig Gordon with a powerful long-range shot, but the Scottish keeper made a stunning save.

In the closing stages, Clarke's players focused on defense and achieved their goal of earning a point.
