HASTINGS, New Zealand, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Osmanthus Garden is a traditional Chinese garden that was established in 1996 in New Zealand to commemorate Hastings' 15th anniversary of the sister city's relationship with China's Guilin, according to Hastings District Council.

The design of the garden uses a combination of Chinese and New Zealand elements and plants. The most prominent plants here are bamboo, camellia and scented Osmanthus after which the garden is named, and most plants are of Chinese origin and have great significance.
