BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Port veteran defender Zhang Linpeng has received an operation to treat a left knee injury.
The 33-year-old defender posted a picture on social media on Friday showing him lying in bed at a hospital.
"A load on my mind is finally gone. No need to take painkillers anymore before training or matches," he wrote.
"The operation was very successful. I look forward to returning to the pitch as soon as possible," he added.
Zhang injured his left knee ligament in a training in early July and has since been sidelined. ■
