BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Shenhua head coach Wu Jingui said his players have been mentally fatigued, which led to a spate of injuries.
According to Wu, the Shanghai side has worked very hard so far, and it has taken a toll on them.
"They are more mentally tired than anything else. And the mental tiredness could easily cause physical problems," he said.
"Our coaching staff are looking into it by studying the training and game records," he added.
Shanghai Shenhua is level with Henan Songshan Longmen and Meizhou Hakka on 30 points, but sits fifth in the Chinese Super League table behind these two teams due to goal differences. ■
