MACAO, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Tickets for the 34th Macao International Music Festival are available at ticketing outlets and via telephone and online booking systems, starting Sunday, according to the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region, organizer of the event.

Themed "Song of Tomorrow," this year's music festival is scheduled to be held from Sept. 25 to Oct. 29, featuring a number of programs and outreach activities that include the opening performance Peer Gynt by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, an innovative reinterpretation of the classic through 22 characters all performed by actor David Wang.

In addition, Chinese conductor Yu Long and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra will join hands with performers of piano and Chinese musical instrument Erhu to convey the boundless charm of music through a repertoire featuring both Chinese and Western genres. Bass-baritone Shen Yang will team up with pianists and actors to present songs inspired by Tang Dynasty poetry.

The organizer said the maximum indoor capacity for programs of the festival is limited to 75 percent due to epidemic concerns. Audiences are required to present proof of completion of two doses of the COVID-19 inactivated vaccine or the mRNA vaccine, or negative nucleic acid test results issued within 48 hours.
