JERUSALEM, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Czech Republic completed a 3-1 away win against Israel in the 2022 Davis Cup World Group I on Saturday.

Thanks to their win, the Czechs advanced to the 2023 Qualifiers, which lead to the Finals, while Israel will play in the World Group I Play-offs.

The best-of-five tie was played on an indoor hardcourt at the Shlomo Group Arena in Israel's Tel Aviv.

After losing Friday's two singles matches, Israel opened the second matchday winning the doubles match, with Israeli 45-year-old captain Jonathan Erlich and Daniel Cukierman beating Jiri Lehecka and Tomas Machac 6-4, 6-3.

Lehecka, currently 63rd in the ATP world rankings, then secured the Czech overall victory after beating Edan Leshem 4-6, 6-0, 7-5.
