MEXICO CITY, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Martin Barragan struck twice in the first half-hour as Puebla ended a 12-game winless run with a 2-1 home victory over Tigres UANL in Mexico's Liga MX on Friday.
The 31-year-old opened the scoring with a low finish in the opening minute before heading home from close range just before the half-hour mark.
Samir Santos pulled a goal back just before halftime for Tigres when he headed into the top-left corner after Sebastian Cordova's cross.
Tigres finished the match with just nine players on the pitch after Luis Quinones and Florian were sent off for bad challenges in the final minutes.
The result leaves Puebla eighth in the standings with 19 points from 15 games, 13 points behind leaders Club America. Tigres are fifth with 27 points.
In Saturday's only other Liga MX fixture, Mazatlan were held to a 1-1 home draw by Toluca. ■
