ZAGREB, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic has tested positive a second time for COVID-19 in less than two years, the government said on Wednesday.
Plenkovic has been isolating and conducting his duties virtually, while War Veterans Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Tomo Medved presides over government sessions, the government said in a press release.
It said the prime minister had been vaccinated, and stressed that the vaccine protects people from severe symptoms but does not completely prevent infection.
Plenkovic first tested positive for COVID-19 in November 2020. ■
