NEW DELHI, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- The 10-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival ended on Friday in India with the immersion of the idol of the Hindu god Ganesh. Every year, the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in a nearby body of water such as a river or sea, on the 14th day of the lunar fortnight.
