Eight empowerment platforms have been launched by the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center (BPIC) in Xiamen, a port city in China's Fujian Province.

"What does the empowerment platform mean? Well, to put it simply, it's a platform providing targeted services so that some high-profile businesses among the BRICS countries can grow rapidly."

"We hope that, through the launch of the eight major empowerment platforms in the new industrial field, we'll empower more of the industries in BRICS countries, such as digital economy, industrial Internet, blockchain, and others."

China established the BPIC in 2020 to encourage BRICS cooperation on policy coordination, personnel training, and project development.
Since then, 40 BRICS cooperation projects have been signed, and over 100 BRICS model projects have been designated.

"For more than a year, we have held 30 online and offline training sessions in various forms and in multiple languages. We have facilitated the launch of several projects through the training."
BRICS is the acronym for an emerging-market bloc that groups Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
Meanwhile, countries like the UAE, Argentina, and Indonesia have been active participants in "BRICS Plus" cooperation.
