BELGRADE, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- AS Monaco edged Serbian side Red Star Belgrade 1-0 in their UEFA Europa League Group H match in Belgrade on Thursday.
Both teams played aggressively and had scoring opportunities in the first half, but neither of them managed to turn chances into goals.
In the 74th minute, Monaco scored the game's only goal through a penalty from Breel Embolo.
Red Star will play its next Group H match away to Turkish team Trabzonspor, while Monaco hosts Hungary's Ferencvaros at home.
In Group H's earlier match, Ferencvaros overpowered Trabzonspor 3-2. ■
