BUDAPEST, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Dr. Chen Pharmacy, a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) company that has been operating in the Hungarian capital for 25 years, won the "Value and Quality Award" on Thursday.

The awarding ceremony was held in the massive neo-gothic parliament building overlooking the Danube river. In this year's ceremony, the prize went to 41 applications from 34 applicants from almost the entire spectrum of the economy.

"Dr. Chen Pharmacy's main objective, other than healing, is to teach people a lifestyle that prevents illness. It helps its customers with combining TCM with modern Western medicine and alternative therapies," the company said in its application.

Founded in 2018, the "Value and Quality Award" is supported by the Hungarian Parliament and the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office. It recognizes and rewards Hungarian enterprises that have been committed to the pursuit of high quality.

Janos Latorcai, deputy speaker of the Hungarian Parliament said at the award ceremony that the "Value and Quality Award" went over a successful renewal.

"This level of uncertainty in the business environment puts all businesses at a crossroads. One possible decision is to strive for safety and reserve, and the other is to run forward to innovation. The winning applicants chose the latter, which is more difficult and risky, but offers real prospects in the longer term," he said.
