PARIS, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- France registered a record 129.8-billion-euro (129 billion U.S. dollars) trade deficit in the rolling 12 months to July, the country's Directorate-General of Customs and Indirect Taxes said here on Thursday.
The trade deficit stood at 14 billion euros in the month of July, it said.
The authority explained that the increase in the trade deficit was a result of soaring energy prices, given that the country imported more energy than it exported. ■
