BAGHDAD, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Aws al-Bander is an Iraqi artist specialized in painting on glass, whose works reflect ideas inspired by the Baghdad's heritage and the ancient history of Iraq.
"I've been specializing in painting on glass since the 1990s when the art flourished during the period of the (international) embargo on Iraq, as it was hard to obtain paints," recalled al-Bander.
Being fond of painting on glass since childhood, the Iraqi artist prefers to use hand drawing despite the entry of modern technology in the field of painting on glass in Iraq, as he believes that the artist's touches reflect his creativity and give an irreplaceable higher artistic value.
