SHENZHEN, China, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League (CSL) side Shenzhen FC have parted company with South Korean coach Lee Jang-soo, the club announced on Thursday night.
The 65-year old had only been in charge at Shenzhen since February. His journey with the team concluded after Shenzhen swallowed a 5-1 defeat to Dalian FC for their fifth loss in a row in this season's CSL.
"Lee brought new tactics and playing styles to the team, discovered and cultivated a number of outstanding young players for Shenzhen, and presented fans with many exciting games. The club thanks him and his coaching team and wish them all the best," the club said in a statement.
Lee began his first China adventure at Beijing Guoan in 2007, before guiding Guangzhou Evergrande to their first CSL title in 2011. Lee also had spells with Chengdu and Changchun from 2016 to 2017. ■
