BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Representatives of services trade firms at home and abroad have highlighted the importance of innovation in boosting the development of services trade during the ongoing 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).
"In recent years, new business models in services trade such as computer and information services have shown sound prospects. It propelled rapid development of other cross-border services trade activities," said Wang Zhiheng, executive vice president of the Bank of China, at one of the summits of the 2022 CIFTIS.
Innovation-driven development has yielded notable achievements in the country, injecting new impetus into the Chinese economy.
An index gauging the vitality of China's new industries, new business forms, and models increased by 35.4 percent in 2021 from a year earlier to 598.8, said the National Bureau of Statistics.
Promoting innovation also called for more professional talent and better human resources services, with digital service platforms for recruitment, personnel management, and salary and tax displayed at this year's CIFTIS.
Human resources are a key component of services trade, playing a crucial role in linking innovation, cooperation, and development, said Bu Yulong, chairman of China International Intellectech Group Co., Ltd.
Themed "cooperate for better development, innovate for a greener future," the 2022 CIFTIS features increased internationalization with some 400 Global Fortune 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises participating. It will run through Sept. 5. ■
