TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian foreign minister said Tuesday that his upcoming trip to Moscow will be mainly aimed at helping resolve the crisis in Ukraine.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that his visit comes after a number of Western states have requested Tehran to play an active role in the resolution of the Ukraine-Russia conflict which has continued since February, reported the Iranian Foreign Ministry's website.
He said discussing bilateral relations and the Afghanistan issue will also be on the agenda of his visit.
Amir-Abdollahian will leave Tehran for Moscow on Wednesday and is expected to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, the official news agency IRNA reported. ■
