China's WNBA centers Han Xu and Li Yueru have reunited with the national team to prepare for the World Cup in September.
BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's women's basketball team announced on Monday that centers Han Xu and Li Yueru had reunited with the team in preparation for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup.
According to their official Weibo account, the Chinese team headed to Belgrade on Sunday after training and playing matches in France, Spain and Belgium, and will train for around two weeks and play two warmup matches against Serbia in the country's capital.
Han and Li, playing in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) this season, have reunited with the team for the World Cup, which will be held in Sydney, Australia from September 22 to October 1.
China, who finished sixth four years ago, have been drawn in Group A with Belgium, Bosnia, Puerto Rico, South Korea and the United States.
The team will depart for Australia on September 10, before kicking off their World Cup campaign against South Korea on September 22. ■
