ISLAMABAD, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- At least 45 people were killed and 113 others injured in heavy monsoon rain-triggered flash floods and other rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours in Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has said.

According to a report released by the NDMA Friday evening, the country's southern Sindh province was the worst-hit region with 33 killed and 98 others injured, followed by the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with 10 killed and 13 injured, while the eastern Punjab province reported two deaths.

The total death toll in Pakistan from this season's monsoon rains since mid-June has risen to 982 along with 1,456 others injured, the NDMA said.
