ATHENS, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have confirmed their desire to boost bilateral cooperation, during talks in Athens on Thursday.

"This is a very important relationship, and I am very much focused on seeing this relationship work. This is a bridge we are working to build between both our countries," said the president of the UAE, according to Greek national broadcaster ERT.

"We have done a lot. We are going to do even more in terms of our level of cooperation," said Greek PM.

The United Arab Emirates will be the country of honor in the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) to be held in the port city of Thessaloniki in northern Greece in September this year.

The UAE leader also held a meeting with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
