LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- NASA is scheduled to launch its Artemis I mission next week, an uncrewed flight test that will provide a foundation to extend human presence to the Moon and beyond, according to the agency.
NASA's Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket will lift off next Monday for the first time from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, according to NASA.
The rocket and spacecraft arrived at its launch pad last Wednesday after a nearly 10-hour, four-mile (6.4 kilometers) trek from the Vehicle Assembly Building.
NASA concluded the Flight Readiness Review of the Artemis I mission on Monday, focusing on the preparedness of the SLS rocket, Orion spacecraft and ground systems, according to NASA. ■
