BERLIN, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Barry Hawkins of England raced to a 6-2 victory over Mark Williams of Wales in the Snooker European Masters to set up a final showdown with Kyren Wilson in Furth, Germany on Saturday night.
World No. 12 Hawkins and Williams, who placed seventh in the rankings, tied 2-2 before the mid-session break.
Hawkins led the second half after errors from his opponent allowed him back for a break of 89 to take the sixth frame.
Hawkins delivered even better from there and a break of 79 sealed his win.
In the other semifinal, Wilson edged Ali Carter 6-5 in a competitive showdown. Wilson was ahead for much of the match but Carter rallied to lead 5-4. However, Wilson held his nerves and took the final two frames. ■
