BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Changchun Yatai captain Sun Jie and Tianjin Jinmen Tigers player Yang Fan have been both suspended for five matches and fined 50,000 yuan by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) for being involved in a fracas in a Chinese Super League game.

The two players were penalized for "committing action of violence", according to a CFA statement released on Thursday night.

Both Sun and Yang were red-carded after their fracas in injury-time of Tianjin's 2-2 draw at home against Changchun on Monday.

Yang slapped Sun in the face as the latter tried to seize him by the throat in a scuffle when the play was halted. The referee sent both players off after a VAR check.

On Tuesday, the Changchun and Tianjin clubs announced that both players had been suspended from playing and training, with Sun fined 300,000 yuan and Yang 200,000 yuan.
