YANGON, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Myanmar Noeleen Heyzer met with Myanmar's State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Foreign Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin in Myanmar's capital city of Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
Min Aung Hlaing and Heyzer exchanged views on promoting trust and cooperation between Myanmar and the United Nations, Myanmar's state media reported.
U Wunna Maung Lwin explained the current developments in Myanmar to the UN special envoy and called on the United Nations to constructively and pragmatically review its approach to cooperation with Myanmar, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Singapore's Heyzer, who arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, was making her first visit to Myanmar since she was appointed as UN secretary-general's special envoy for Myanmar in October last year. ■
