BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Beijing reported four new local COVID-19 infections in the first 15 hours of Wednesday, a local health official told a press briefing Wednesday.
Three infections were among people already in quarantine, and one was found in community screening, said Liu Xiaofeng, deputy head of the Beijing municipal disease prevention and control center.
Two cases are in the district of Fengtai, while the other two are in the districts of Shunyi and Changping, Liu said.
Due to the peak summer travel season, the city now faces an increased risk of reporting more cases from those who travel or return to Beijing from overseas or other parts of the country, Liu said.
Liu advised people to minimize going out during the first week after arrival in Beijing and to watch their health condition closely, as well as that of their family members. ■
