SYDNEY, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Cricket Australia (CA) announced a five-year blueprint to expand participation and advocate for the inclusion of the sport at the 2032 Olympics, to be held in Australia's Brisbane.

The "Where the Game Grows" plan released on Monday will govern the organisation's decision making to strengthen the engagement between fans and players, produce world-class teams, and establish a framework for the game's positive social impact.

The plan set a target to double the number of children aged five to 12 playing the game to 210,000 -- over a quarter of which will be girls -- over the next five years.

It would also look to support cricket's inclusion at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, enhancing the global impact of the sport. The plan will help support the delivery of international cricket events, including the implementation of a minimum of three events from the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the next five years.

Cricket has only ever been featured at an Olympics once during the Summer Games in Paris in 1900, and has been shortlisted for a possible inclusion at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
