GUANGZHOU, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- After three years of construction, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) (Guangzhou) is scheduled to open on Sept. 1. HKUST (Guangzhou) is the first legally-independent university co-established by Chinese mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". Located in Nansha District of Guangzhou, the university will provide a fully functional campus space for accommodation, teaching and research, sports competition, art performance, etc.
