BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Hebei FC goalkeeper Bao Yaxiong has apologized for a mistake in Hebei's 4-3 defeat to Tianjin Jinmen Tigers in a Chinese top-flight game on Thursday.
Bao dropped the ball in the 83rd minute into the path of Tianjin striker Ba Dun, allowing Ba to score the winner.
"My howler ruined all the efforts of the team, I want to say sorry to you all," Bao wrote on social media late on Thursday night.
In response to Bao's apology, teammate Zhao Ziye said that he should be the person to blame for the defeat.
"My brother Bao, it's my fault to miss our last chance to equalize," he commented on Bao's social media account.
The 19-year-old striker had a good scoring chance in the 87th minute, only to see his effort parried by the opposition goalkeeper.
The Hebei side is currently struggling at the bottom of the Chinese Super League table with three points from 12 games. ■
